I am indeed delighted and pleased to be at the helm of affairs of PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization), a pioneer and premier safety and statutory organization (formerly Dept. of Explosives) established in the year 1898, for Petroleum and Explosives Sectors in India.
From its inception, PESO administers Petroleum Act, Explosives Act and Rules framed under these acts, with a view to make everyday a safe-day not only in work but also in work places. Safety excellence by ensuring Zero-Accident and Zero-Harm is the core mantra of this organization.
I am glad to share with you, that promptness and courteousness are interwoven in our activities to deliver best service to the public and industry, efficiently and effectively. I take this opportunity to appeal to all stake holders of Petroleum and Explosives Industries to follow safe practices which would recognize and correct unsafe working patterns and processes involved therein. In pursuit of achieving the goal of zero accident, we must drive a positive safety culture through communication, consultations and regular safety awareness models in our working patterns and places. And, I`m confident that you all would give greater emphasis on `Safety`.
I hereby place on record your continued commitment and support to PESO in its endeavor. We look ahead to the ensuing days with as much confidence and commitment as we had in the past, in all spheres of our approach and actions. I remain confident that we would shoulder assigned responsibilities with renewed enthusiasm, vigour and zeal to take the organization to the zenith of excellence, upholding the mantra of Safety-First and Safety-Must.
Further launching of `Make in India` initiatives by Govt. of India, the Indian economy is on high trajectory. This boom in economy is going to increase the overall demand for energy. Under such circumstances, PESO is embarked upon effective service delivery through its e-Governance program keeping in view Hon`ble Prime Minister`s dream i.e. "I dream of a Digital India where Government services are easily and efficiently available to citizens."
PESO has already introduced e-filing of applications under Petroleum and GCR Rules, e-payment and auto-renewal for its licensees. The response of Industry has been very encouraging to these new e-Governance initiatives. We shall further provide e-filing facilities under Explosives Rules, 2008, Ammonium Nitrate Rules, 2012 and SMPV Rules, 1981 with the technical associate ship of NIC to institute more transparency thereby instilling confidence of effective and efficient service to Public and Industry at large.
I also take this opportunity to sincerely thank Department Of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Govt. of India, for their invaluable guidance and perpetual faith shown in the capabilities and performance of PESO to achieve various milestones in e-Governance and other spheres of our work to facilitate ease-of-doing business in India.
PESO is thankful to you all for the unwavering confidence, encouragement, and faith exhibited by you in our capability and performance to keep this mother-land a safe place to live in.
